Alyosha, along with friends Kapan and Sovoy, goes to visit his grandfather, forester Belaryov in the summer. One day the guys find a little roe, whose mother was shot by a poacher. The forester writes a letter to the district authorities. But the executive committee is closed because it is a weekend. Alyosha gives a letter to the familiar girl Nyusha.
